Community Resilience
Local emergency responders will always have to prioritise those in greatest need during an emergency, focusing their efforts where life is in danger. There will be times when individuals and communities are affected by an emergency but are not in immediate danger and will have the resources and /or capabilities to look after themselves and each other for a period until necessary external assistance can be provided. There is no statutory responsibility for communities to plan for, or respond to, emergencies in their locality, however it is good practice for communities to identify hazards and make simple plans on how they may assist responding agencies should an emergency occur within their community. Every community may be susceptible to a hazard at any given time. We are actively working with Town and Community Councils across North Wales to deliver a Community resilience strategy for the Local Authorities.
Community Emergency Plan
We have developed a home emergency plan template for residents to complete, which will help ensure they are more resilient to an emergency. Completing a Home Emergency Plan will help you and your family prepare for any possible emergency. By recording the potential dangers in and around your home and put in place a way of dealing with those dangers.
